BLANK

Renewable Diesel Unit OSBL

For a fast-paced project, the client required engineering and design services to support completion of the OSBL areas at a Renewable Diesel Unit (RDU) grassroots facility. Each area was in varying degrees of completion and required completion as an IFC construction package. The construction packages were individually prioritized according to construction needs. Areas included Charge Tanks, pumps, pipe bridges over existing roads, piperacks connecting to the RDU, and integration of a cooling tower.

Foundations

Structural steel add-ons and new steel

Pipe racks

Modularized pipe bridges to reduce schedule time

Piping isometrics

Cable schedules for power, controls and lighting

Grounding plan drawings and details

Specification for transformers, lighting, and panel boards

Electrical details and interconnects

Instrument specification sheets, installation and loop drawings

Coal Fines Drying and Blending

This alternative use for coal is a proprietary process for blending “micro-fine” coal which has been reclaimed from coal mine discard. The coal fines are bulk delivered to site in 40 foot shipping containers and consist of 50% moisture. The containers are dumped into a hopper and conveyed into a flash dryer where the coal is dried to less than 5% moisture. Following the drying, it is blended into No. 6 Fuel Oil, or other heavy oils, thereby increasing volume and BTU value of the fuel oil. The blended fuel oil is stored in tanks and then pumped to ships/barges for delivery to the end user.

Ethanol Injection

IPM performed complete engineering, design, and construction for the client’s Ethanol Storage, Injection, and Truck Loading/Unloading Project.

The project’s purpose was to provide a safe environment for ethanol unloading into existing storage tanks.

The project included process development to scope out the project and then engineering and design work for the ethanol storage, new transfer pump, truck loading platforms & arms, piping and pipe racks, and structural steel supports.
